Hole #1 - 532 Yards Par 5
You begin your journey from the top of the world, overlooking a huge expanse of golf holes. The downhill tee shot plays to an enormously wide landing area of turf making for a confidence building first shot. At the center of the fairway just past the main landing area, however, is a bunker. Play short, left, right, or (for the longest players) over! Things tighten up a bit as the hole proceeds but essentially an easy opener.
Hole #2 - 220 Yards Par 3
Again, downhill from elevated tees, this moderately long Par 3 provides plenty of fairway shot, allowing shots to run up to the green protected by bunkers on all sides. The green is fairly large and simple but trouble lurks for any shots that fly onto the green, as there is a sharp fall-off. The smart play is to play towards the front right portion of the green.
Hole #3 - 346 Yards Par 4
Although slightly uphill, this short Par 4 does not require driver off the tee. The best play is a fairway wood up the right side to leave the best angle in. A large open stream could swallow exceptionally long tee shots. The green sets at an angle with some strong contouring and is bunkered heavily left with some bailout to the right. This should prove to be one of the easier holes if played smartly.
Hole #4 - 582 Yards Par 5
A slightly dangerous tee shot to a plateau landing area with bunkers right that leaves a second downhill shot through a tight line of trees. Long but risky tee shots could receive significant roll. The green is set at a strong angle, slightly raised and protected by a long series of bunkers. Over the green is a turf bailout area.
Hole #5 - 403 Yards Par 4
Not long but a wide stream provides trouble up the left side, the tee shot should be played towards the target bunkers up and right. The stream then bisects the hole well short of the green but the second uphill is very demanding with a deep bunker guarding most all of the green. A large bailout area is provided on the left for the less bold.
Hole #6 - 234 Yards Par 3
Long, slightly uphill and into an angled green with loads of sand left! This hole will be the most demanding Par 3 for many reasons. A visually intimidating cross bunker is well short of the green and there is an enormous bailout area short and right but chipping from there will prove quite difficult as the right edge of the green is built up sending balls quickly towards the center of the green. Many a good player will walk away with 4 here.
Hole #7 - 544 Yards Par 5
With elevated tees a large view of the hole, this is perhaps the most fun tee shot on the course, as the risk-reward Par 5 could play quite easy for the bold players. The fairway is set at a strong left to right angle with bunkers and lost ball vegetation up the right side. Bold tee shots can thread the needle of the fairway and receive a strong kick forward; whereas going at the green in two is dangerous but within reach. Safely played tee shots and second shots will make for an easy pitch to the green, easily accessed from the left but held up with bunkers right.
Hole #8 - 145 Yards Par 3
Short but uphill, this small Par 3 plays into a beautiful backdrop of a canyon with solid vegetation. A stream runs from behind the green down the left side of the hole, cutting in front of the tees, providing one of the strongest visuals on the strong contouring, especially at the back and at the front where balls could pull well back into the fairway.
Hole #9 - 417 Yards Par 4
The tee shot plays to a wide landing area that quickly drops down to a narrower fairway. The green rises above the fairway and is held up on the right side and rear by a series of bunkers.
Hole #10 - 384 Yards Par 4
(Signature Hole)
Perhaps the most stunning view from the tee as the hole plays into a huge backdrop of towering mountains surrounding a valley. Slightly uphill, the hole doglegs right to a green site protected by cross-bunkers and greenside bunkers. The long, narrow, multi-tiered green will require accurate shot making. This may become the most recognized hole on the course and will play more difficult than its length would indicate.
Hole #11 - 374 Yards Par 4
Short and downhill but dangerous off the tee with vegetation left and a long, sweeping series of bunkers right set above a stream. Hit the driver if you dare but be sure to work the ball left to right off the tee. The hole then plays slightly uphill to a heavily-bunkered green site with strong contouring and tiers. A good-sized bailout is provided right but a small bunker keeps you honest and will need to be dealt with depending on pin locations.
Hole #12 - 521 Yards Par 5
The downhill tee shot plays to a landing area protected by bunkers and open channel to the right and a set of target bunkers long left. From the landing area the decision-making begins. An open channel bisects the hole about 180 yards short of the green and a series of bunkers pull from the green well down the fairway creating a split fairway. The golfer must then choose to play right leaving a more delicate third shot over greenside bunkers or left bringing the stream into play but leaving a much easier open pitch to the green.
Hole #13 - 448 Yards Par 4
Downhill, right to left with a very wide fairway but things tighten up quite a lot at the turn. Aim at the target bunkers right and the ball will receive a strong kick to the center of the fairway. The green site is unique with a short-mowed "valley of sin" low at the front of the green behind bunkers. Balls will potentially suck back from the green if not struck firmly enough.
Hole #14 - 177 Yards Par 3
Medium in length and fairly forgiving, this hole can be played conservatively to the left-center or can be attacked at the right side when pins are set at the back lobe, bringing the open channel into play. A bit of a breather hole in preparation of the final four.
Hole #15 - 593 Yards Par 5
Long and mean, this hole starts from elevated tees giving some feeling of confidence but as the hole marches forward, things get quite interesting. A series of cross-bunkers cut off the right side just at the second landing area and will be carried by only the longest hitters. The third plays quickly uphill to a perched green protected in the front by deep bunkers. The green site is much larger than it appears but does feature some strong contouring and is protected by a bunker at the rear.
Hole #16 - 400 Yards Par 4
Short and bisected by a stream, this hole doesn't require driver off the tee but will accept it if kept in play. The landing area falls off quickly providing added roll but tee shots that are too aggressive will potentially run into the creek bisecting the front of the green. The green features some strong contours and a swale rolling to the front.
Hole #17 - 201 Yards Par 3
Straightforward and very traditional in look, this medium length Par 3 will be quite demanding with bunkers along the left and a large bunker cutting off the right side. Some bailout is provided but the more than subtle slope will make for testy chipping.
Hole #18 - 479 Yards Par 4
Long and uphill, this finishing hole is the strongest, most difficult Par 4 on the course! Bending right to left and quickly rising uphill to a plateau green, the best tee shot flirts with the left side leaving the best angle in. Bunkers right of the two-tiered green give serious protection to middle and right pins but ample bailout is provided short right. A strong finish to an outstanding course.
