Mission Hills David Leadbetter Golf Academy ( MH DLGA)
The first DLGA in China was established in 2002 at the Mission Hills Golf Club, Guanlan, Shenzhen and accredited as “ My Favourite Golf Academy” as assessed by CHINA GOLF magazine.
The David Leadbetter teaching method, as applied at the academy, offers a variety of lesson packages that includes individual and group lessons for different levels of students.
Since the inception the Leadbetter Academy and with years of experiences in golf instruction and academy management, we have organized successful holiday camps during the summer and winter months. Many juniors from the age 5 to 17 and coming from all over the world, have enjoyed their holidays in these camps and significantly improved their golf games. Furthermore, they also learn how to live, socialize and interact with new friends emanating from various places. The success of our junior training is reflected on the great performances and winning titles of our DLGA students in many junior golf tournaments in recent years. Some of them were selected to represent China at international events.
Andy Leadbetter
Andy Leadbetter grew up in Orlando, Florida, and began playing golf at the age of four. A four year varsity letter winner, he competed in numerous amateur and junior tournaments during his years at Lake Highland Preparatory School and amassed multiple victories on the Florida State Junior and Florida State High School levels.
He was an AJGA All American before receiving a full golf scholarship at the
University of Nevada Las Vegas. Following the conclusion of his collegiate career, it was only natural for Andy to enter the family business and pursue a career in golf instruction.
Andy has been under the tutelage of his father, Mr. David Leadbetter, for perhaps longer than any of David's students past and present, and for more than two decades has had the opportunity to learn under the watchful eye of his father and to also have the opportunity to assist during the lessons of countless touring professionals David has taught over the years.
As an understudy to David and his elite staff of instructors at the DLGA World Headquarters, Andy has gained a tremendous understanding of the golf swing and how to communicate David's philosophy to our students in simple, easy to understand lessons.
Andy has worked in Champions Gate, Florida and looks forward to continuing the Leadbetter teaching legacy by working with players of all ages and abilities.
Andy has joined Missions Hills as Director of Golf Academy on Sep 18, 2007 to bring in the state of Art of International golf training from America to Mission Hills David Leadbetter Golf Academy in Shenzhen. This would be great value to all our students and golfers in China and Asia.
